Stasis

I'm pacing in a public hallway

And the people staring at me need to-

Mind their business

I'm waiting for you to text me back

I sound like a little girl

A needy little girl

I'm waiting for you to text me back

I'm pacing in a classroom

The teacher is staring at me, and someone from behind me shouts

"Can you just sit down!"

I'm waiting for you to text me back.

You wait an hour

I manage five minutes.

I'm waiting for something worthwhile to say to you

I'm pacing in the lobby of my mothers hotel room

I see her neat red heals click down the stairs

And she says "This, again?"

I'm waiting for you to love me back

I'm waiting for my life to look like a fairy tale

To be a movie, with a kiss at the end

And a fade to black

And a happy ending.

I'm waiting for a happy ending

I'm pacing-

I'm waiting for you to text me back.

I love this! Something a lot of millenials can relate to!
