goodbye to the fun and games

goodbye to old friends and old flames

hello to work and greater gains

now it's for real

now it's just you

no one else

it's up to you to make it happen

no nagging

no slacking

no curfew, kinda

no rules, sorta

but ultimatley up to you

this is the next chapter

what you make of it is up to you

obviously

and so, sarcastically

energetically

nervously

you await your first day

not completely worried about what comes next

but not so sure either

a bit uneasy

but at the end of the day excited

"I'm on my own!"

"I'm on my own?"

"I'm on my own..."

some feel they're ready for the challenges that lie ahead

others fake a smile and bouts of confidence 

just like they used to

knowing there's no more crew

a new school

new enviornment

new people

new opprotunities

to make your dreams become a reality

or just waste your parents money

I hope not

Just have fun and stay focused

watch what you eat

be careful what you speak

and stay organized

you don't have to go to a party every week

don't spend to much on books and supplies

remember these teachers don't give a million tries

keep track of your lies

and don't stay cooped up in your dorm or at home

it's college my friends

an expensive and enriching experience

so make it count

oh and don't "kill" your bank account

but hey

at the end of the day

stay calm and just do your thang

you're smart enough

you're capable enough

you're special enough

you're good enough to achieve your dreams

you know it

I know it

and I don't even know you

but if you don't

I'm letting ya know now

you're great

so just make it happen
