Stars

Stars/// eyes meet mine across the crowd, calling for migration,
temptation,
must be just a friendly salutation, I tell myself, but
allow for a moment, the idea
it could be more.
Across the border
you're a house of brick and mortar.
I reach out to seize the dream
it's not as close as it may seem.
What a shame
for the void
is not a welcoming place to touch hands.
But still you wave like Lady Liberty, out on to the sea.
