Stars

A chilly crisp breeze cuts through the night
look up at the sky, what a wonderful sight
the gray and white of the painted sky
i want to see the bright lights before I die
sitting alone with a baggage of despair
one life to live, why do i even care
a flicker of light catches my eye
there's something more i cannot deny
like a flower blooms I'm but a seed
with no direction, i desperately need a lead
more and more glimmering lights fill the sky
tears roll down, i wish i could fly
look up and see the beauty of life
don't give up, don't choose the knife
greater things exist for those who live
be the one who will give, give, and give
light up the world for all to see
this is what I strive to be.
