Starry Night
The fear of the pitch black
Which, like a demon, frightens most
Mesmerizes me like an owl
Who perches from the tree
With glowing eyes of hope
The undescribable,
Sky that blooms of lavender
And although dim,
The stars still shine bright from a distance
As my soul draws near
Like a fish on a hook
I swim to the surface of the galaxy
Glowing as red as Betelguese
But I don't have to say it three times
The clouds become a stairway to heaven
As the stars up close that die
From the murderous shadow of daybreak
Illuminate the world
While the sky may seem bare
Like a woman, the sky is beautiful
And although people find joy during the day
And mourn their shortcomings at night
Like a moth to a flame,
I'm drawn to the moon
Taking a giant leap, but not for mankind
The wind, although silent
Sings a blissful tune like a carefree child
As the trees join in an enchanting dance
Entranced by the wind's spell
As I turn into a swan
Who swims in the heavenly fountain
That had agreed to its part of the
Bargain I paid with a singular penny
Drinking 'til I become youthful
While everyone else in the world sleeps
I lie awake as a nocturnal creature
And I dance, arrayed as a swan dancer,
Dancing the night away, the night
That thankfully nobody else appreciates
The night, that I look forward to,
As I hear footsteps of reindeer,
Hoping to catch the night before it flees
Eight planets that have once been separated,
Draw together and orbit, not the sun,
But the stars as they orbit together,
Spinning in a circle like children,
As the galaxies full of stars
Unite together into one, while they
Finally come alive, breaking free from
The forever long separation
As they meet together in a dance
As though they've never met
While the fountain bathes them,
Washes them anew
And together we all dance away
To let us all shine brightly
As we drift into a new world
A world no human will ever truly know
Unless they are tugged by the stars.
