Star-crossed Lovers

Mon, 06/20/2016 - 18:45 -- Lounda1

Stuck in the verge of fear

panicked at the sight of death

shrieking screams fills the air

with no one in sight to hear

this water so fierce and deadly

embrace my almost lifeless body

searching for air

for land

for peace

for something to hold

and yet still I drifted deep below

drifted, drifted, unconsciously

drifted, drifted without hope.

This dream so strong and fearful

helped me find my fearless, Romeo

hearing his voice through the walls of death

Have awoken me from my slumber

then the waves shot me on the shore

where I lay in the arms of my love.

Even when they can't agree

"oh, how I wish they would let us be"

The colors of our skins don't matter much to me.

Our names were forged by fire

Carved in an eternal flame.

Destined to be like Shakespeare's young lovers.
