Standing Out Senior Year

The days tick by and seconds feel like hours
They sit in class all day to "Grow like flowers"
Our teachers continue to lecture in class
They sit in their seats, daydreaming for time to pass
What they do not know is that time is running out
College, is what senior year is all about.
Instead of applying for scholarships and schools,
they either sit around, or break some rules
"You will regret it!" our counselor said.
They just wanted to sleep instead.
I am glad I stood out from the crowd
Instead of worrying, I can be proud
I have been accepted to college before the rest have applied
It felt great to get that letter, I just cried and cried.
