The Stage

I’m standing behind a curtain, waiting for the music to begin.  I try to go over the routine in my head; chaînés, assemble, tombe pas de bourrée, grand jeté.  “Yes, I’ve got it!  There’s no way I can mess up.”  The lights flash signaling for the show to start.  I take my place in the wing ready to start my turns onto the stage.  The music begins to play, and my nerves immediately go away.  Now I can relax doing what I love to do; perform.
