Square one

I remember the days when we used to play in the fields, endless sea of greenlands on all sides.
Can you fathom the shape of that field? Well I can't.
Do you remember moving indoors when the new video game arrived? Oh how excited we were! We played on and on and on sitting in front of the TV, boring holes in the screen or was it boring holes in our eyes?
Can you fathom the shape of the room we sat in? Can you fathom the shape of that TV? Well now I can.
It was a cube. The TV was a square screen.
I remember when you got your new smartphone. I was happy for you. But soon i realized that phone took all your time. You talked and texted and created a virtual life.
You were content in that square bubble of pretend happiness. Can you fathom the shape of that phone? I can. It was a smaller square.
Do you remember the time when we were best friends? Joined by hip?
I know you don't. Because the space between us has grown by tenfolds. You stick with your phone, i stick with my lonliness.
Can you fathom the shape of space between us? Well I can't. Neither can you. But I think it must be a damn square too.
