The Sphinx
Claws of alabaster,
On marble stone,
I scratch at imperfections,
On me they are not known.
Wings like swans and eagles,
Angels' bitter cries,
They weep of jealousy,
Envy in their eyes.
Body of brown beast,
Beautiful and strong,
No one dares come closer,
Fight nor do wrong.
Mind like prophetic fire,
tapestry on the wall,
Written by my hand,
I know it all.
I am the beast that sits upon that Grecian pedastal,
Fear my fury, yearn my love, for I have no flaws at all.
