Speechless

Location

You make me speechless.

Waking up to the sweet smell of you on a Sunday morning

Makes carnations bloom in my lungs.

Feeling your arms wrap around me to prevent me from getting out of bed

Makes the butterflies in my stomach burst out of their cocoons.

Seeing your sleepy eyes peak open as you whisper "Good morning.."

Makes my heart run a marathon.

You... you turn my brain to mush.

You leave me speechless.

I'm left to wonder how I became graced with such love.

Such compassion.

Such comfort.

Such safety.

Your hazel eyes plead, "Stay a little longer with me."

I can't help but listen as I lay my head on your chest

Wrapped up in your arms.

The flowers still blooming every time I inhale

The butterflies fluttering around with no rest

And my heart, running, not slowing down.

Speechless.

But then I let the words, "I love you," slip from my lips as I fall back asleep.
