A Spectator

Sat, 06/22/2019 - 13:46 -- JGodoy

Observing

Gazing at others through an eyeglass

Each life as intricate as my own

I wonder,

If I had never flown

Would I have ever known?

As passersby scramble

I continue to gamble

A constant debate in my head

About things I should have said

Relationships I could have salvaged

Which instead left me bandaged

Wait,

I am not damaged.

Mistakes I made

A double-edged blade

My flaws do not define me

Rather, refine me

Introspection at its core

Is solely meant to restore

A believer in second chances

For those with regenerative circumstances

The realization that what once was

Will never die

Yet continue to grow

Transforming

To the Eye.
