SPEAK UP!

Location

My tongue is held by stitches

Cannot say how much it itches

Full of dips and mines

Bitten my tongue too many times.

Some have tongues of lead

Some of silver or gold instead

Crimson and black trenches and lines

Bitten my tongue too many times.

I would rip out my decency

To the bin with hesitancy!

But, useless as a fork with broken tines

Bitten my tongue too many times.

There is so much to say

Shouldn’t dawdle or delay

But alas, the mother of all crimes-

Bitten my tongue too many times.

My tongue is held by stitches

Cannot say how much it itches

Full of dips and mines

Bitten my tongue too many times.

Some have tongues of lead

Some of silver or gold instead

Crimson and black trenches and lines

Bitten my tongue too many times.

I would rip out my decency

To the bin with hesitancy!

But, useless as a fork with broken tines

Bitten my tongue too many times.

There is so much to say

Shouldn’t dawdle or delay

But alas, the mother of all crimes-

Bitten my tongue too many times.
