Sounds and Shadows

She heard a song through the window

Saw the faded light caught crisp through the pane

Not the beauty of the day, or the autumn orange sun

Left her breath stolen, jogging her mind to a run

Lifting her heart to a separate spirit.

But whispered tunes, melodies

Ethereal sounds had steadily

Flooded the sense and since

Then, she stood; Changed

He saw a shadow through the doorway

Heard the silence so stiff

So rigid, he heard

Not the magnificence of those subtle moments

Where Music was made and on when

All there was wasn't what wasn't

But what could be.

No, a deep shadow embraced

All that he could see,

that when with lack of light mixed

He stood, Transfixed.

Beautiful, how she changed.

How tragic, he remains.
