Sorrows of Eve

I was once called a shining sun
held and caressed like a queen
in hands of a love prince.
Told how pretty I am, and how
everything makes no sense without
me,
how good I was in the weird world of ego
I was once your sunshine in winter
admired and cherished like blue and red
roses in arms of a new found love.
I listened to your songs of love that
have vanished into the horizon
I am lost once again in the restless
world of solitude.

You were once grateful to God for
knowing me,
Cried and screamed like a bruised babe
on my graceful body.
Neither did I know that what we shared
was nothing but illusion.
Once again I am blown below the belt
in my dance to keep my love.
Why give it to me when it is not
mine to keep.
Can I ever kiss the life of hurt and
loneliness goodbye for good?
