Sorrow

You scream and cry
And shout out, "Why?"
And kick and fight and ponder.
So you think
About how you have become a monster.
You are filled with
agonizing suffering
with no chance of ever recovering
And heartache that tears you up in two.
This life leaves you broken and disheartened
With nothing else for you to do.
But you don't entertain these thoughts,
Because then you'd give into all that you've fought.
You'll make your family weep surely.
So stop your sobbing,
And your soul will stop its throbbing
And all will be well tomorrow.
Or at least you hope so,
But we both know,
Your heart will still be filled with sorrow.
