I’m sorry
I keep forgetting that when I look into your eyes from across the room you’ll notice
Your face looks confused for a second
And then you look away
And so do I

I just want to know what’s behind that look of indifference
And those lips you keep so tightly sealed

There’s an entire universe in there
In you
I’m sure of it

The first time we kissed, I saw it
A vast swirling of black and purple and little yellow stars
As I pulled away I inhaled too sharply
And a single burning sun burnt my mouth like hot coffee

You never warned me
I should have sued

But how could you
you didn’t even know
Didn’t even know there were entire worlds inside of you
One of which I destroyed in an instant

You don’t realize what you’ve got
Because it won’t work with your plans for self destruction
You only recognize your pain and your past and your doubts
But you have everything you need
To fix it too
