Somber and Lonely

Somber and Lonely

I go to the backyard

The rose bushes dead

Their silver skeletons

Etched in my head.

Ashamed

Yet strangely fascinated

At the bare structure

And the jaggedness of the thorns

I take a moment

To note the gloominess of the scene

Then returned inside

To reflect upon

What I've seen.
