Social Media

There’s a reason we’d rather leave

talking to a backlit screen,

pictures to a filtered camera,

mindless chit-chat to a soft blue bird,

self-description to dashboards of dark and de-saturated blue,

and reminiscing to walls,

covered pictures and in boring scribbles,

is because no one is good at talking anymore.

We’ve lost that edge that made face-to-face so special.

Everything’s a virtual experience.

Entire lives are lived online in lieu of actual living.

And we are perfectly happy with it.
