Sobering Sobriety

The question is not if I do it.

The question is what will happen if I don’t.

What will happen to my body?

What will happen to my mind?

What will happen to my family?

It’s just a glass of wine.

It’s just a few shots of Jack.

With this kind of thinking, I’ll wind up in a whole.

With this kind of thinking, my life will lack.

I gain the ability to fight on my own.

I gain the respect that turns this tomblike house into a home.

I gain the ability to detect what decision I should make next.
