So you want to know

So you want to know what makes me tick?
Then listen up because sometimes you can be thick,

What makes me tick is when people lie,
They steal and cheat and I wonder why?
Is it really worth it to push someone away?
“It’s to protect them” is what they all say.
Life lesson: the truth hurts
And I’m sorry to be this curt

What makes me tick is when people front.
They act like they’re so put together when they’re really not
Then they want to go out and bash another
Just to protect their “perfect” little cover.

What makes me tick is when people say you can’t trust nobody
Because I’m a part of that since I am somebody
They take the past and apply it to the present
They apply it to me and look down like I’m a peasant
You don’t know me, so you can’t judge,
And it’s unfair because you don’t budge,
On your negative attitude on life
And it gets me so down, I’m full of strife.
I could have your back and be that true friend
But you’re so caught up in the past that you want it to end,
Our friendship before it even really began.

I’m not sure what you were expecting
When I said I’ll tell you what makes me tick
But I hope you listened
So that it can really stick
