Sleeping Beauty

Snubbed, uninvited, and salty was she

Feeling like a nobody, filled with vengeance,

Ready to spill the fateful sentence

Maleficent said, looking evil and clever

With every word her grin dwindled

“On her 18th birthday, she’ll sleep forever!”

When she gets pricked on a spindle”

She laughed and spun and poofed away

Leaving stunned faces clear,

As the cloud dissipate

16 years pass

And through a magic ball

Maleficent sees her plan working and all

Maleficent sings:

“Aurora on the spindle

Aurora in a bed

Flower upon her chest

Looking quite dead”

Suddenly, A familiar voice rings:

“Party crasher,

sword slasher,

evil creating,

Prince baiting,

purple and green,

worthless scheme,

This is what you are!

If you wanted me dead so badly

Why not just kill me

From the start?”

A slash of a sword

And a frustrated yell

The setting shakes

Reality awakes

Aurora rose from sleep, surrounded by folks

And her parents and groom

And finally spoke:

“I had a nightmare

About a witch with a plan

About a witch with too much time on her hands

Something is missing

Or someone

I’ve done my work, but it doesn’t feel done

The wedding is soon, I ‘ought to make amends

Do we have another invite to send?”

Hi :) I like the poem, but I was confused as to why the grin would dwindle especially as she laughs in the next segment, so shouldn't the grin grow larger??
