Simple Thoughts
I thought I was akin to you
Just another member and friend
I play, I run, I'm noisy and fun
So why do they treat me like I'm dumb
I'm only doing what they do
I find the table, counter and couch comforting too
We all enjoy a little food
I see you sharing water and toys
I only humped the legs of boys
I know you're outside the closet
I bark so you remember I'm here
I'm hungry and thirsty now
My waste litters the floor
And still you ignore the door
I miss your once gentle hands
I try to bite the new pair that hits and kicks
Still I'll take the attention I can get
For my thoughts are simple to you
And I'd rather not dispute.
