The Silent War

Thu, 01/23/2014 - 16:56 -- KCcombs

Words unsaid drift us apart

Filling up the silence ever expanding

Regret breeds resentment

We take up our shields

And put on our armor

We stand at the ready

Anger building and adrenaline rushing

Who ever thought silence could be so loud?

We stand so close yet miles apart

Finally, all words failing, we turn to walk away when

In a farewell given, a small slight slips

And the bombs explode in our hearts

Forever wounding a failing friendship
