Clumps of snow burst out of the sky,
the whoosh of the piercing wind,
hits my ice cold face.

The crinkling and snapping of branches,
the clutter all beneath my feet,
the sky is the Milky Way, twisty and mysterious.

Shards of memories run through my mind,
the weight of this snow so heavy,
the control that hovers over me.

But plowing through the snow,
fighting against the wind,
I whimper as I reach my destination.
