The Sign

Sun, 05/27/2018 - 01:04 -- Cricket

Watching, waiting, for anything, a sign,
Something to believe in, one to claim as mine.
Stresses and sorrows, prayers and doubts,
left me wondering, what is this life really about?
Lost and lonely, fear and strife,
little did I know, you would enter my life.
One day of dread, turned upside down,
there you were, my heart started to pound.
Your face was my witness, and your voice was the sign,
how did I know then, right away you would be mine?
I prayed and spoke to God, never knowing he heard,
the bleeding in my heart, the tears falling, eyes blurred.
There you were before me, not one smile on your face,
I knew in my heart, that frown I could replace.
Was it coincidence I found you that day,
or was it God who was leading the way?
I believe in love at first site,
and in every single way God shone that big bright light.
Our souls entwined together we are one,
a blessing from God, lovers and friends to never come undone.
