Sick, Sad Addict

The blade runs across your skin, cutting deep into your soul
You ponder, lost in thought
You ask yourself, "why am I doing this?"
You hate the feeling, cringe as you drag the blade
Right when the scars are fading, you go back for more
You got better at hiding it because you're ashamed
You have tried to quit so many times, but addiction always captures you, dragging you back in harshly
Talking about it is a fear
People will judge you, label you as being crazy
But they will never understand you
They will never understand the addiction
You hate yourself so much, so you punish your body, abusing it
You can't do anything about it, so you continue to let the self-destruction take over you
