Short-Lived Love

Location

In my dreams, I found a girl smoking

And as it seems, she wasn’t even choking; professional

But hey, that’s not important

She was the finest fine that a young man can find

Kind of classy like the oldest of wines

Caramel skin, waist real thin, so divine

But I could see the beauty within

And I love it

I wasted no time and reached in for a kiss

Yes, one on the lips

Something special but, not intimate

Classified as a little more innocent

She then kicked the habit like it never happened

Well, miracles happen and it’s safe to say I sparked the flame

Without having to explain that our touch made us better together

Thought it would last forever

Forever-ever and ever-ever

But it died due to bad weather

Carried her through the doors

I didn’t know her but; my heart was torn and poured

Only heard a mellow piano ballad, with a vibrant horn

The elevator shut, and the music stopped playing

She left my life, mind, and imagination

We did nothing but, she’s my short-lived love

A creation that’s fake and tainted

Because I never had the time to see

We never had the time to be

And it’s a shame
