She Stood With Her Arms Out Open

She took it in,
She held it there,
She refused to let it out,
She refused to go down,

She stood with her arms out open,
She refused to scream and shout,
She refused to let that sadness bring her down,
Then she fell down, down, down,

She knew it was wrong,
She knew it was hurtful,
She knew it'd kill her,
She knew it'd be awful,

She stood with her arms out open,
Looking lost like a fallen angel,
She held her head up as high as she could,
She kept her heart out open,

She has scars,
She has marks,
She has bruises,
She is irreparably broken,

She stood with her arms out open,
Crying for the one who broke her,
She stumbled as she fell,
Giving in to all the hell,

She knew she'd never be okay,
She knew she'd never smile the same,
She knew she'd never act the right way,
She knew she'd made the wrong mistake,

She stood with her arms out open,
Never praying but hoping,
Wishing she'd get every second back,
Cherishing all the lost memories,

She knew it was dangerous,
She knew it was risky,
She knew she'd be broken,
She knew she'd always cave,

She stood with her arms crossed over,
She knows it's all over,
It's time to give up the charade,
It's time to give in,

She cried,
She was ready to be gone,
She wanted to be better,
She was ready to let go,

She let it out,
She gave in,
She refused to let it back in,
She refused to forget him,
So she ended the everlasting lifeline.
