Is she hiding or is she smiling?

Location

You see her from across the room,

But can you her the thoughts running through her head?

The ones telling her that she is not good enough for people like you,

a life like this.

The ones saying that she needs to hide behind the curtains

to pretend that everything is okay.

But is it really?

To her, her life is full of doubt,

full of unkept promises and broken trust.

And to everyone surrounding her,

they're oblivious to her torn heart,

And why is this? Because she is constantly smiling,

Her curtains are her beautiful imperfections,

The ones that even those sickening aspects of life can't stop her from revealing

Because she wakes up every morning with a smile on her face,

hoping for a better day.

And why is this?

She knows that in this life, everything takes time

So here she is

smiling,

patiently waiting for her better days to come.
