Shattered Glass

I walk down these empty halls

Tired about ready to fall

From exhaustion and the pitfalls

I try to look down just minding my own biz

Head down earbuds in

Running like a train in the wind

Sometimes though I seem to fail

Ignoring the people around me as I flail

Onto the floor like shattered glass

Flopping around like a fresh fish catch

I hear laughter throughout the halls

She falls! She falls! They Cry

In turn, I fall down more

 And cry so forth

When I hear their laughter in those empty halls

I’m like shattered glass imperfect and ignored

A broken and shattered piece of glass

Sometimes I feel like I just can't pick up my own pieces

The pieces of myself that are broken shattered and fallen down

I’m am mere glass

But I like glass I know when I can be put back together

Like glass I am stained

My tears are what bring me up and down

Like shattered glass, I’m not alone

There dozens of pieces

Dozens of ways

Dozens and dozens of ways to be put back together again

So when I hear that laughter in the hall

I'll look up and join them

Because when I fall

I'm not alone

I'll scream to the rafters

I fell! I fell! I fell! I cry
