Shame

Insidious are people's words,
Will we ever be equal?
Inside we are all the same.
Love could save us.
Life though is so backwards.
Can I walk through a crowd all casual,
Holding hands with a black girl unashamed?
Occasionally there won't be a fuss,
Oh but if there is I will keep moving forward,
See I choose love no matter the refusal.
Explain to me the difference you claim.
Long ago separation was a must,
Olden days though are gone with no regards.
Vow now to end this dual.
End this hate that causes shame.
