Severus Snape

He sat upon the floor

in front of the shrine he created for her.

He knew that if she was here

she would criticize him relentlessly

for mourning for her like he was.

He just couldn’t help it.

The woman he loved was gone.

Dead.

He knew he would probably never smile again

until she was back with him.

He loved her so much

and he begged and pleaded with both

to protect and keep her safe.

He asked one to spare her from her fate

but in the end, she begged for death.

He told the other of the plans to kill her and her family

and begged him to keep her safe,

which he didn’t in the end.

The man didn’t know which one he hated more;

the one who killed her

or the one who didn’t protect her.

An ache began to spread throughout his body;

a roar of emotions he couldn’t all name;

a void becoming more and more permanent in his heart.

He missed her so much

and he knew he would never see those eyes again

unless…yes that’s what he would do.

He had never seen the boy before

but had heard rumours from others

that her son had her exact eyes and was much like her

and unfortunately like her husband as well,

but the man could look past that…hopefully,

but he knew what he had to do.

He, Severus Snape, would protect Lily Potter’s son the best he could

and he knew he would be welcomed back with open arms

when he finally saw Lily once again.
