Seven Petals

Seven Petals;

Full of life and beauty,

A friendship that isn't a duty.

With them full of freedom,

happiness;

belonging.

Never the feeling of unfreedom,

sadness;

longing.

The rose that once held the petals;

Is withering away.

In my hand I hold the petals;

Whose life has gone away.

With tears I hold them.

Seven Petals;

Once, full of life and beauty,

A friendship that became a death duty.

With them the feeling of unfreedom,

sadness;

longing.

Once full of freedom,

happiness;

belonging.

The rose that once held the petals;

Perished away.

In my hand I hold the petals,

Whose life has gone away.

With tears of thoughtful gratitude.

I let them scatter away.
