The Setting Sun; The Dawning Age
As a blanket of clouds
Laid the ancient stars to rest
My brother and I
Embraced the familiar test
Watching the dances of the dark
Falling under the night's embrace
My friend and I
Gazed beyond a familiar face
Perplexed by the emptiness of human wisdom
Seeing each star as a remnant of broken trust
My rival and I
Looked beyond the perception of a stalwart just
Resting among fallen leaves and hopeful dreams
Remembering the day when the wind whispered our names
My companion and I
Accepted that this was the last of our juvenile games
Seeing the vacant moon pass over the silent hill
Representing the passing of our time as young men
My teacher and I
Purged the thought of returning to such ignorance once again
Unraveling as the sun's brilliance overtook the empty heavens
Approaching a new day in the life of a man; a new age in the life of a boy
My ally and I
Looked to the setting sun and fleeting clouds as a manifestation of our future joy
As a blanket of clouds
Commanded the youthful sun to awaken
My brother and I
Forgave all that was mistaken
