Self

Growing up always seems lightyears away

No kid ever realizes that in reality, it is right around the corner and here to stay

Acquiring independence tastes bittersweet

As the changes a child faces are quite a feat

What were once summers full of play

Quickly morphed into months of pay

At first, the sight of a consistent check is motivating

Soon, the reality of it all sets in as intimidating

Stress and anxiety permeate the space

But eventually, one learns to embrace

Before a person dives into this in-depth bookshelf,

Recognize that life’s most significant and necessary supporter is the self
