Scraping

And you just know we will fall for your shiny, plastic charms,

Freshly prepared scraps handed out to the masses,

While we sleep each night in rooms the width of our outstretched arms,

Walls feel taller and closer as each day passes,

Desperate to fill the black void with things that will calm us,

Following those who don’t follow back, so tragic,

Choosing things we don’t want and that will probably harm us,

The unseen forces are powerful like magic,

To them we’re just pets scraping at their doors, locked outside,

They’re never gonna let us inside it’s a fact,

Unless we band together, unite ourselves, not divide,

They’ll never stop us once their code has been hacked,

Can you feel the pain?

They’re scraping out the souls of us,

It’s taking heavy tolls on us,

No one can reach our goals but us.
