Running from You

I was walking around looking at the ground for so long,

I couldn't count the days.

This entire time,

I had been running from you.

When I finally glanced up,

you were standing right in front of me.

In a mixture of confusion and hopelessness,

I said, "what are you doing here?"

With a magnificent amount of pity in your eyes

that I never want to remember again,

you replied, "what are YOU doing here?"

And when I glanced down trying to make sense of this moment,

I realized that I was on your doorstep.
