Running

The light is dying in the evergreen grove

Among the trees and in darkness you rove

You hear a twig snap in the dark

Fear and darkness leaves it's mark

Running Running

You run through trees and miles of black

Your face is cut and your lips start to crack

Blood drips down and lands on your lips

Pain fills your legs and spreads to your hips

Running Running

Why are you running, is something there

Or are you too scared to even care?

The night is cruel and leaves you blind

But anything's better than what's behind

Running Running

You know the truth, but you dare not turn

So you run through miles of tree and of fern

The darkness grips at your heart and soul

You trip and fall in an empty hole

Running Running

You're forced to stop, you can run no more

You await your fate on the forest floor

Time seems to stop and you face the truth

The thing you were running from is you

Running Running out of time

To choose your path and make up your mind

You need new life and despise your past

It's time to change your future at last

You cannot run from your past anymore

You pick yourself up off the forest floor

You walk back out and into new light

Your new look at life is a beautiful sight.
