Run and Hide

I sat alone

In the dark

Waiting for you

To come home.

I heard a whisper

And I replied

As I waited for you

To come inside.

I felt your touch

On my skin

And I shivered

As it was a sin.

If only

The walls

Were paper thin.

If only

I had turned on

The lights.

If only I had

Opened my eyes;

I wouldn't feel

You burning my skin

With every stroke

Of your shadow-kissed

Lips.
