Romantic Poetry

She is the light
In a world inhabited by Benedict Arnold’s and despair,
She stands out from everyone
For she is the light

While we fight each other
Until we’re all lying dead in a pool of our blood
She instead channels her inner Moses
Trying to lead her people away towards freedom

While the rest of us are living in our own personal hells
Hating each other, rating each other by other’s looks
She instead exudes this warmth that’s hospitable to all
For she is the light

And while she’s cloaked in bright white clothes
And seemingly angelic in appearance
To call her a godsend is very far fetched
But I like many others envy her
For she is the light
