Riverbend

Thu, 01/02/2020 - 16:18 -- hmbr7

Walking by the river I heard,

A peaceful sound, almost a word.

I looked around the shallow bend,

But could not hear the sound again.

Down the river bank I went,

I had to find what that sound meant!

When I stepped into the rush,

The water's chill made my cheeks blush.

But then I heard, as from within,

the sound of peace, of nature's friends.
