This Ride

Sometimes when I wander

I think back to all the times

You smiled at me with your golden eyes

And all the times

You frowned at me with your brown brown eyes

Those times

All those times

They're like my own personal roller coaster ride

When I want to go up

I think about the gold

The sun

The miners in the water

But when I want to go down

I think about that deep deep brown

The mud on a rainy day

The bottom of an ocean floor

And the feeling I get

From way up high to

Way down low

Makes my stomach lurch and my heart bellow

I want to stay on this ride

I want to know what it's like to ride in the rain

To ride in the thunder and the light light lightning

I want to know what it's like to ride upside down and

Side to side

I want to know what it's like to feel weightless and then suddenly full of weight

I don't want to get off

But I don't have enough money to stay

And I don't want to pay the fee

So you say goodbye

And I hold on to the memories I have

Deep deep down

Inside of the brown

Watching the golden sun frown.
