Revolution

Location

It has been engraved into my brain,
carved onto the tips of my nails,
sewn into the seams of the clothes that I wear
that I am the future and
I crave for change because
I am the heart of a revolution.

I refuse to simply hand over my life to the factories
to die working in a cubicle,
or sell soul to the system.
I refuse to take the labels that society has printed
and pin them to my name,
I refuse!
Because I? I build my own future.

Together, we can put water into the buckets of the thirsty,
hope into the eyes of the hopeless.
This is our generation; We are the heart of a revolution.
