Remove the Filter

Location

Remove the filters that surround our lives.

Don't sugarcoat it

to the ones outside.

The world as we know it can be harsh and cruel,

so let's not pretend

that it always looks cool.

Starbucks to sweaters, new clothes and shoes,

we always pick the newest

filters that we want to use.

Focus on the reality, put down the phone.

Get that jump start,

on that house you want to own.

Afford the newest cameras, with that new job of yours.

Or become the best med student,

looking for a cure.

I, myself, am not perfect, with an Instagram addiction,

but I believe i can live my dream

and it will almost sound like fiction.

It all begins with removing the filter around my life,

the very same filter

that keeps the world in pure light.

Looking to the outside I'm not sure what to expect,

i think to get out there,

i can find out the rest.

I'm ready now to remove the filter around my life,

I won't sugarcoat it,

to the ones inside.
