We recollect enjoyable past events. To forget about the present and the current troubles that come along with it. This; Life. It’s full of obstacles; death, peer pressure, lies. Expectations are set for you from the time you are born— whether it be to get accepted into that big university to make your mother proud, to be a leader of a country, to change the world, or just to make others happy. Sometimes these expectations cannot be reached. What do we do when these prospects can’t be met? We indulge in past events. We seek comfort in ourselves, with the memory of first learning to ride a bike, laughing so hard your sides hurt, siblings giving you advice, your mom kissing you goodnight, or just being adolescent and having no worries. To recollect days passed can be a beautiful escape. To be able to neglect the problems in your life for a moment is amazing. Old times will never return, but new memories have yet to be ma(poems go here)
