Reminiscing my sweet African fruits

The sweet scent of mangoes, yellow and
Juicy sugarcanes and crisp pawpaw’s,
coated with pleasurable sheen
Each dotted with drops of water from the
morning rain
Beautifully toned by the hands of a great artist
without stain

I am instantly carried away to yesteryear's
Sitting under the mango tree while daylight
Watching the magical lights shine through its
silvery leaves
The feel of warm goose bumps against my
skin as I hear the cool night breeze

And here I watch from a distance
Dreaming it all back to existence
Longing to touch, feel and taste these flavors
so rare
Yet I can only stare
