Remains of the Day

Lead the way

this could be the day

no more crying no more shame

So stop placing the blame

I said this could be the day

So, take the lead and make haste

the humans here only hate

they resist, complain, and spit in your face

this could be the day

Loving life trying to be great

take the lead and dont make haste

take your time and don't waste

be the pride seen on their face

not just this empty void that's taken your place

love does not reign in this space

this gaping hole filled with hate

remorse gives way to disgrace

how can time heal when all you do is shove in my face

lost time, lost love, lost feelings can't keep up the chase

noone can keep up at this pace

sadness flooding this place

I feel for you losing this battle losing face

but most of all losing your mother's warm embrace

the love you know and the quasi notion that I might stay

Ripping my ears out like an air raid

Punishing me at the stake

No rewards and no claim

Just burning hot hate
