Religion

Everybody is blind,
To some extent.
They try to bind,
With ill intent.

They follow like sheep,
Ignorant of the effect.
Determined to sleep,
Despite the lack of respect.

Everybody has opposing views,
And all want uniformity.
Some sit in pews,
While all laugh at each other's stupidity.

Their stupidity is reciprocated,
By other groups.
Even by guys named ted,
That aren't dupes.

Religion is a lie,
People use to deceive.
Whether they're as good as pie,
Or evil without reprieve.

People like to use it,
To get their opinion of justice.
They choose WHEN to use it,
To help their selfish purpose.

Most allow jealousy to get in the way,
Of compassion and forgiveness.
Even though it's not their "way",
They do it regardless.

They treat the supernatural,
Like it's the biggest evil.
Without understanding it all,
It makes them want to kill.

They leave no room,
For explanations.
Instead they see it as their doom,
With no exceptions.

So in reality,
Religion hasn't changed.
It's full of stupidity,
That has been maintained.
