Relief

A burning pain infects my heart,

A fire that by anger starts.

Not a rain cloud in the sky,

The air is hot and very dry.

A scorching wind upon me blows,

As the fire slowly grows,

My blood it boils like a pot,

I seek a shady resting spot.

Anger burns and fury spreads,

Spreads like fire in my head.

Ashes cloud my every thought,

Thoughts of hate and battles fought.

A breeze sings by, a breathe of air.

Blowing gently through my hair.

Whispers softly on the sky,

Voice a soothing lullaby.

It's voice is sweet, it's breathe is cool,

Refreshing as a swimming pool.

It smother out the burning pain,

Of my scorching ashen brain.

The thoughts that burned me come to stall,

My head is cooled by hard rainfall.

A shady spot is in my sight,

A place that's free of burning light.

You're voice has calmed this savage beast,

Thanks to you the fires ceased.

Just like the breeze you fly away,

I was so hoping you would stay...
